New Project: Wood Hutch

Today I am excited to begin the restoration work on this vintage wood hutch.

I love the arched top and the carved details. With some glazing and distressing, those details are really going to stand out.

What I especially like about this wood hutch is that it has 3 drawers and offers tons of storage, and because it’s narrow, it doesn’t take up a lot of room. Now that’s what I call a win/win!

As soon as all the repairs are made, I can begin priming. Then comes the fun part!

This wood hutch reminds me of a cabinet Sausha over at Sweet Pickins Furniture did a while back using a Vaseline distressing treatment.

Except her’s isn’t arched… and it doesn’t have drawers. And it’s a completely different style…

OK, well, they both have chicken wire door fronts!

I guess my memory just isn’t as good as it once was.

I’m not sure if I will do any of the Vaseline distressing on my wood hutch, you’ll have to wait and see! But if you’d like more information, you can read about the technique here.

Anyway, if you’d like to follow my blog to see how it out, please subscribe to my posts!
