I am so over this cold weather and ready for Spring! I even started my Spring Cleaning early!! I wanted to share this DIY HARD WATER STAIN REMOVER solution I used and the amazing results!
I think I have the hardest water in California! We live in an area where our water is supplied by a Mutual Stock Water Company. The water is supposed to be pretty comparable to city or county supplied water. But I tell you, its NOT. Thus, my lovely sink:
I have never really looked under the faucet before, but look what I found!
I know, gross right??! Well, I am about to show you how you can get rid of all that nastiness in about 30 minutes! I found lots of Hard Water Deposit Removal DIY Recipes all over Google and Pinterest. But, being the indecisive person that I am, I decided not to decide on any one, and created my own! Here’s what I came up with:
DIY HARD WATER STAIN REMOVER RECIPE:
3 Cups Vinegar (I like the Heinz Cleaning Grade)
1 Cup Lemon Juice
1 TBS Dishsoap (I used Dawn Power Clean)
I poured about a cup of this DIY HARD WATER STAIN REMOVER solution into a small cup and submerged my faucet head in the mixture. The rest I filled an empty spray bottle and went to town!! I sprayed all around my faucet handles, the sink, the ice drip catcher-thingy in the refrigerator door, the bathroom faucets and all over the shower!! I let it soak for a good 30 minutes. When I came back with a scrubbing sponge I was so please everything came off pretty easily!
I did have to work a little at the faucet, but the key word here is LITTLE! Now look how much cleaner it is!
Now, I will keep my DIY HARD WATER STAIN REMOVER spray solution handy, and use it for weekly cleanings! I have been using vinegar and baking soda to clean everything for a while now, but I am just so amazed at how effective this DIY solution was at removing hard water stains! I just can’t get over these before and after photos!
Ok, so now I am inspired to get the rest of my house in spiffy condition, and I hope you are too!
Bring on Spring!! Happy Cleaning Ya’ll!!
