Confessions of a Furniture Addict

Confession is good for the soul, right? My name is Sherri Reyes, and I’m a Craigslist Junkie!! I have this compulsive NEED to rescue, restore and re-home neglected and unwanted furniture! There, I said it… So here goes the Confessions of a Furniture Addict.

Over the past few years, I have become more and more obsessed with “collecting” furniture. Some would argue its more like hoarding, but in my defense, a major component of hoarding is the inability or unwillingness to discard of said objects. I have no problem re-homing my beloved treasures (and they are treasures, each and every one of them!!)

I’m always on the hunt for my next fix… sneaking in a Craigslist peek while I’m waiting for my daughter to get out of softball practice or standing in line at the grocery store. It’s even the first thing I check when I wake up in the morning.

Hey, I wouldn’t want to miss out on that rickety vintage vanity that was posted at 3:28am, all because of my selfish need to get up and get ready for work!!Painted Vintage Craigslist

And even though I have furniture piled floor to ceiling in my garage, I just can’t stop! It’s like these poor, uncared for pieces call out to me… They beg me to come and save them and give them a better life. Today I even used my lunch break to go pick up a few more items to add to my collection: a jewelry armoire, cute little antique table and a gem of a dresser!! All which I cannot wait to transform! OK, so I didn’t have time to actually eat, but still, I call that a productive lunch!Painted Vintage reLoved Furniture

So when you see me, rearranging all the pieces of furniture stuffed in my truck, trying desperately to make room to fit my kids… don’t judge me.

Some people save lives, I save furniture.Painted Vintage Furniture

A kindred spirit that makes me feel not ‘so’ crazy. I too love saving quality made furniture from ruin. Thank you!
