Reuprposed Soda Crate Project
On one of my latest adventures I came across an old crate. I loved the way the wood was weathered and grayed, the brand indistinguishable. It was so perfectly not-perfect!!
Pinterest has all sorts of creative ways to repurpose old crates. I loved this Soda Crate Plate Rack that was on Grand Design Co’s blog a few years ago… I even love how it coordinates with her wooden valances. I also admire the black and white numbered plates. Look how lovely!!
I really wished I could create something similar, but I only had one soda crate {sigh}… But I did have some old jars that I’ve been saving for God knows what!!
After I spray painted the lids a pretty turquoise, I added a simple hang tag for labeling with some jute twine. Perfect to store and display all sorts of goodies!!
And there you have it! My Repurposed Soda Crate made into a Rustic Craft Organizer:
I can picture the repurposed jars filled with sewing notions, old bobbins and thread spools! This would also make a great accent piece in a country chic bathroom to hold necessities like q-tips cotton balls, and even mini soap! Here I filled some of the jars with some scrap booking embellishments and acrylic paints.
While the crate is in very weathered condition, it is still quite sturdy. It can be used as free standing storage, or attached to a wall, if you’re handy! It can also be turned lengthwise, if it fits your space better. 6 (empty) jars and hang tags are included. Available on for purchase my Etsy Shop
UPDATE: This item has sold, and on its way to Washington DC!!
I’d love to hear your comments. Do you have something like this in your home?

Hi Wendy, are you referring to the wood valances? Aren’t they amazing??? If so, those are actually Nikki Grandy’s over at Grand Design Co. You can click directly on the photo to be taken to her blog. Also, here’s a link to a photo tour of her home. She has better photo of them here: http://granddesignco.blogspot.com/p/tour-my-home.html
